Do you want to contribute to my latest book: "The Complete Guide to Affiliate Marketing on the Web: How to Use and Profit from Affiliate Marketing"

I am writing my latest book entitled "The Complete Guide to Affiliate Marketing on the Web: How to Use and Profit from Affiliate Marketing Programs".

Affiliate marketing is a highly profitable online advertising method in which Web site merchants pay independent third parties to promote the products or services of an advertiser on their Web site. In other words, affiliate marketing involves posting a company's banner on your Web site or blog and attempting to send visitors to their Web site. If someone clicks on that banner or goes to that site and buys something, you will be paid a commission. While some affiliates pay only when a sale is made, some selling big ticket items like cars, credit cards, travel, and so forth have modified the model and pay for qualified leads.

Affiliate marketing is now viewed as a key component of a company's online marketing strategy.Affiliate marketing is an advertising technique that originally was developed by Amazon.com. In this new book you will learn how to master the art and science behind affiliate marketing in a matter of hours. By investing a few dollars you can easily increase the number of visitors to your Web site and significantly increase sales. If you want to drive high quality, targeted traffic to your site, there is no better way than affiliate marketing. Since you only pay when a sale is made, your marketing dollars are being used more effectively and efficiently compared to any other advertising method. The keys to success in affiliate marketing are knowing what you are doing, devising a comprehensive and well-crafted advertising plan, and knowing the relationships between your Web site, search engines, PPC advertising, and campaign methodology.

This groundbreaking and exhaustively researched new book will provide everything you need to know to get you started on generating high-volume, high quality leads. You will learn the six steps to a successful campaign: keyword research, software needed, copy editing, setup and implementation, performance analysis, return on investment, and reporting and avoiding PPC fraud. In addition, we spent thousands of hours interviewing hundreds of today's most successful affiliate marketing masters. This book is a compilation of their secrets and proven successful ideas. Additionally, we give you hundreds of tips and tricks to ensure your Web site is optimized for maximum search engine effectiveness, which will drive business to your Web site and increase sales and profits. You will find actual case studies from companies who have used our techniques and achieved unprecedented success. If you are interested in learning hundreds of hints, tricks, and secrets on how to implement affiliate marketing, optimizing your Web site for maximum search engine effectiveness, developing a cost-effective marketing campaign, and ultimately earning enormous profits, this book is for you.

I am looking for contributors to this book. Specifically I am looking for articles, submissions, hints, tips and tricks for experienced affiliate marketers, as well as affiliate software developers, affiliate marketing companies, and others who would like to contribute. Any contributor will get full recognition, personal and/or corporate biography, contact information and a free copy of the book.
Additionally, I am looking for someone who is a very experienced afffiliate marketing expert to write the book forward.
You may contact me directly at bruce@gizwebs.com. I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. “The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing, Pay Per Click Advertising Secrets Revealed” is a valuable tool for anyone who promotes businesses via the Web. Whether for a business owner, web designer, or marketing consultant, this book offers a wealth of useful information geared toward increasing web site exposure. There are a number of wrong ways to promote a website. You could simply upload your site and hope that someone will stumble across it. You could be intrusive and annoying and force visitors to you, using deceptive techniques. Or you could do it the right way, Bruce C. Brown’s way.

The book was brilliantly structured to provide information that goes well beyond search engine success. Brown first explains the difference between various internet advertising methods, clearly defining pay-per-click (PPC) and banner ads and explaining how each works to promote your site. He further describes less desirable methods like spam and pop-up ads and tells why they are not as effective as PPC or banner ads.

As a contractor who writes web content for various businesses, I benefited greatly from Brown’s in-depth coverage of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies. I also enjoyed a section, earlier in the book, which explained, in great detail the elements of the CAN-SPAM Act. The CAN-SPAM Act was designed to prevent unsolicited, intrusive advertising methods, and the addition of this section makes Brown’s book an even more valuable guide to have on hand.

As I have already stated, “The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing, Pay Per Click Advertising Secrets Revealed” offers much more than search engine and PPC optimization guidelines. It also teaches how to strategically construct a web site to greatly improve search engine result placement, suggesting effective keywords and search-enhancing tags (HTML) to embed directly into your web pages. Brown then launches into a complete autopsy of the various search engine systems, describing how each finds and flags your website.

There are other useful bits of information such as the costs involved in search engine marketing – how to budget, how much you should expect to spend, and when being first place on the search results list isn’t worth the cost. I was impressed that cost issues were included to ensure that no unpleasant surprises are involved in following Brown’s methods.

And just to make sure no stone’s left unturned, the book is chock full of additional links and resources. There are recommendations as to which companies would be most helpful in the website/search engine optimization process along with suggestions for further reading.

“The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing, Pay Per Click Advertising Secrets Revealed” is a necessary resource for anyone contributing toward the success of a web enhanced business.

  2. Pay per click advertising is all the rage. Hundreds of sites claim that “you, too can make hundreds of thousands of dollars” with the technology. But what is pay per click? And how can it work for the average person looking to get started?

The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing answers these and many more questions, beginning with the most obvious: What exactly is pay per click marketing, and why should the reader be interested in it? The author, Bruce Brown, explains the history and background of online marketing, and how it’s become one of the most effective forms of advertising in history.
Search engine optimization is explored in detail, as each search engine has a different algorithm and tactics for returning results. Brown shows the reader how to capitalize on how each search engine fetches their information, through META tags, keywords, feedback, and other types of website optimization. Generating traffic to your website is obviously an important part of online marketing, and the author explains what the best strategies are for getting visitors to notice your web presence.

Yahoo and Google are the two premier search engines, and each has their own advertising methods. The author walks the reader through each, offering handy tips, step-by-step comparisons of cost effectiveness, and how to avoid click fraud. Microsoft’s ad structure is also discussed.
Affiliate marketing, through eBay and other systems, can also be used effectively to net large profits, and Brown explains how to become part of an affiliate program, how to generate leads and traffic, and what the potential successes can be when using affiliates.

Included in the book are case studies that illustrate the points made and show real-life applications of the principles and strategies outlined in the book’s previous chapters. Perhaps most valuable is the last chapter, which gives tips and tricks from the professionals who use SEO marketing and pay per click on a daily basis to make a living. The reader can learn from the best and start their SEO business right.

All in all, this is a great book, with a style that is professional yet entertaining and easy to understand. If you’re looking to find out more and perhaps cash in on pay per click marketing—to augment your existing career or begin a new one—this book is a great place to start.

  3. I have been looking for this book! Search engine optimization and pay per click advertising were mysterious techniques about which I knew nothing until I read The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing by Bruce C. Brown. The heart of the book is its detailed information about online marketing using search engine optimization and pay per click advertising. Several chapters are devoted to these strategies with regard to specific search engines, such as Google and Yahoo.

The purpose of search engine optimization (SEO) is to raise the ranking of your website on a particular search engine by the use of relevant keywords or phrases. The author explains how to choose the best keywords or phrases for your site and how to use META tags to raise your website’s ranking. He also discusses keyword placement on a webpage. Did you know that some search engines only “crawl” a small portion of the text on a particular webpage?

Pay per click advertising (PPC) will reach millions of customers in a credible, cost-effective way. This type of online marketing plan can target a geographical area or demographic group, and it can be modified easily if it does not seem to be working.

The book also includes a history of online marketing and descriptions of types of online ads. Case studies, hints, tips, and advice round out the content. This is a clearly organized, easy-to-use guidebook for a person who is fairly internet-savvy. I recommend it highly.

  4. The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing: Pay Per Click Advertising Secrets Revealed by Bruce Brown is a guide for anyone looking to utilize search engine marketing to increase traffic to their website. As someone looking to grow an online business, this is a topic I have long been interested in, but knew very little about before reading this book. Brown goes through the history of Internet marketing and explains why Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is superior to other forms of online advertising. He explains how to budget for a PPC campaign and how to choose effective keywords, measure the return on investment and use Google and Yahoo’s campaign management systems. The case studies peppered throughout the book are particularly helpful as they offer real examples of PPC campaigns and their results.

One complaint I had was that Brown spends a little more time than necessary discussing topics such as Search Engine Optimization. The book strays from its PPC strengths, but in that it also provides additional information for those who would like to know a little more about Internet marketing.

I found this book very helpful as I prepared to launch my own PPC campaign. While some of the information in Brown’s guide was not particularly relevant to my needs, it still offered large amount of help in understanding and using PPC advertising.

  5. The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing
    by Bruce C Brown

Bruce Brown takes us on a delightful tour of search engine Marketing. We meet some Pay Per Click guru’s that astound with their knowledge.

“Forget schemes and empty promises. There is only one way to guarantee
that your web site will get visibility, at the top of all major search engines. It is through hard work compared with P.P.C. advertising,” says Bruce.

So much for my six pack of silver bullets. But he’s right. And when you think about it hard work never hurt anyone . . . . right.

We now have two billion pages on the internet. Google and Yahoo come under the spotlight. Bruce even gives Microsoft ad Centre the once over.

To get a maximum return, we are gonna need to do our homework. These three are the major players so study up and decide which is best for you.

Chapter 14 has some real case studies. One example is ‘The Hitchin Post.’ In Sep. and Oct. they did not spend on P.P.C. advertising. The money just trickled in.

The next month, Nov. they invested $550 on P.P.C. . the return was $2,375.55 . The following month $885 was shelled out and the payoff was a staggering $4,131.59 . Almost double.

If this is not enough to convince you, on page 200 is a special report. In the closing pages there is an excellent glossary.

  6. Rating: 4 Stars

The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing: Pay Per Click Advertising Secrets Revealed by Bruce C. Brown is a great book for small business owners and those with small marketing budgets. This comprehensive guide is a wonderful addition to anyone who wants to promote their business online.

The online pay-per-click system may seem complicated with its many ins and outs but with Brown’s book, you can implement his ideas with little to no money and do so easily. Each section offers a wealth of information for web marketing and pay-per-click newbies. There are even three separate sections each on how to use Google, Yahoo and Microsoft alone! The concepts are simple and the history of online marketing gives one a helpful background in getting started. Brown teaches you how to create a budget, devise a marketing strategy of your own and work from there. This book is a good resource with its handy checklists, helpful glossary of terms and sections on writing your own press releases and even detecting fraud in the online marketing world.

‘The Ultimate Guide’ gives detailed plans and goes far beyond the basics of PPC marketing. With Brown’s guide, you will learn the difference between the internet marketing practices and be armed and ready to get your business out there. What I loved the most was that names, internet addresses and links are all right here in this book! Brown includes so much information and guidance that there is even a section about how much time you can expect to spend depending on the success outcome level you are looking for. There are a variety of links and resources all at your fingertips in this book. It is detailed, well laid out and incredibly helpful to anyone who is looking for a new way to advertise their business and get beyond the first round of search engine success.

  1. As a loyal fan of Internet related business, I was expecting from this book too much. And once again, I was put back on the ground by the strict order of the book and its complete worldliness. Moreover, it looks rather Spartan. However, the book is by no means simple. On the contrary, compared to other web-based businesses e-mail marketing seems a more difficult area to succeed.
I’d rather say that the target audience/customers of this issue are people, who have already had their web-based business and long to start another one. And in this respect, the book is very good! Usually, businessmen think they know everything about their trade, especially if they prosper. But when they want to expand the business, they face many problems. And one of the ways to solve them is to read the book.
Nicely structured, not a guide but a real encyclopedia of e-mail marketing with wonderful case studies, history retrospective and loads of useful links.
Definitely, this book is written by a professional and information here is not “phishing”!

  2. This is one of the best resource books for internet business I’ve found. Brown has created a book with a wealth of information for the small online business owner. Not only has he included tips, ideas, and resources; but, he also lists the advantages, disadvantages, and features of each of the programs and resources he suggests. He doesn’t stop at email marketing either. Brown includes helpful suggestions on many other aspects of doing business online, especially Search Engine Optimization.

Another excellent feature of The Complete Guide to Email Marketing is the included case studies. There are a ton of ideas and information by other business pros included throughout the book. Everything you need for your business email campaign is in here. Information on spamming laws, creating effective email content, targeting the right audience, when to send emails, and creating email lists are just a few of the subjects presented in this book. I highly recommend this book for those just getting started as well as for those looking to boost their email campaigns effectiveness.

  3. The Complete Guide to Email Marketing
    by Bruce Brown

I liked this book. It is available for just about anyone. Whether you are an online merchant or a traditional retailer. There is something there for you.

We are given an in depth history of the internet. I never knew it was first used by the military. Then there are when the first emails were sent. Totally mind boggling.

Bruce gives us the low down on four major areas of online marketing:

Paid search advertisements (pay per click)
    Banner adverts
    Classified ads
    Email marketing

Interweaved within all this are case studies that show how the best systems work. Chapter 15 is jam packed with them too.

The author, Bruce Brown teaches how to write an effective email. He starts with the subject line then gets around to the best day to send it. We all know why Mondays are not a good day and most of us can figure out why Fridays are not another good day.

Wait till you find out which is the best day and why. The best time for sending emails are 7am-10:30am. We also get a free treat. That is website optimization tools and some web design helps. The addresses are all in his book.

As usual Bruce gives us a glossary. But because this book is such an easy read you won’t need it. I think it is there just in case.

  4. With the passing of the CAN-SPAM Act in 2003, it has grown more difficult to legitimately market through email. This book addresses this issue and many others with regard to email marketing. Mr. Brown provides a comprehensive guide to marketing your business or product through email, while navigating spam filters. This book is written for legitimate businesses with legitimate products and services to sell.

Mr. Brown describes how to grow your business through your website. Additional topics covered include how to write an effective sales email, search engine optimization (SEO), and to effectively target your emails. The book includes a glossary of terms and numerous case studies.

The Complete Guide to Google Advertising—Including Tips, Tricks, & Strategies to Create a Winning Advertising Plan

Are you one of the many who think Google is simply a search engine? Yes, it is true that Google is the most popular search engine on the Web today. More than 275 million times a day, people use Google and its related partner sites to find information on just about any subject. Many of those people are looking for your products and services. Consider this even if you don’t have a Web site or product. There are tremendous opportunities on the Internet and money to be made using Google.

Google has created numerous marketing and advertising products that are fast and easy to implement in your business today including Adsense, Adwords, and the Google APIs. This new book takes the confusion and mystery out of working with Google and its various advertising and marketing programs. You will learn the secrets of working with Google—without making costly mistakes. This book is an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to succeed with advertising on Google. This book teaches you the ins and outs using all of Google’s advertising and marketing tools. You will instantly start producing results and profits.

In addition to the extensive research placed in the book, we spent thousands of hours interviewing, e-mailing, and communicating with hundreds of today’s most successful Google advertising experts. This book contains their secrets and proven successful ideas, including actual case studies. If you are interested in learning hundreds of hints, tricks, and secrets on how to implement effective Google marketing campaigns and ultimately earn enormous profits, then this book is for you. ISBN-10:1-60138-045-3 • ISBN-13:978-1-60138-045-6 • Item # 9781601380456 • $24.95
  1. Here is the missing manual for marketing with Google. Bruce Brown provides the instructions and suggestions for all of Google’s tools; from the traffic drawing PPC of Adwords, to the revenue generating AdSense. The Complete Guide to Google Advertising picks up where the Google help text leaves off and provides the questions a new marketer needs to answer before executing their plan and answers the questions you will have as you implement and manage your plan.

You may want to read this next to your computer, as Brown provides numerous URLs for supporting tools and examples which you can use to check your online marketing optimization and effectiveness not only for your website but also in checking out the competition and the best practices in the industry.

Brown also highlights the reality and imperfection of this relatively new marketing means by devoting a significant amount of information around managing the risks of Pay-Per-Click Fraud. As multiple solutions are provided for this and other improvements, keep in mind that additional investigation is required on your part to determine the best solution for your endeavor and budget. The case studies – while not in depth - promote the duality that people are successful with a Google marketing campaign and that you can do it, against the reality that those other people are likely to be your competitors if you are not pursuing internet marketing plan.

This is not a dramatized book on Google, nor a treatise on the theory of marketing in the internet age, but it is a useful user guide for optimizing your web presence for a higher search engine page ranking, running an effective on line marketing campaign and efficiently using the tools offered by Google and other supporting resources.

    Rating: 4 of 5

  2. As a professional photographer (photojournalist for a daily newspaper), having an internet presence was a little easier for me because my employer and our IT department promote my photos some. When I started expanding my freelance business this year however, I was at a loss at how to promote myself other than getting a website. I’m a baby-boomer and overwhelmed at the pay-per-click and all the different ways to generate money on the web, but this book explains it in a way even me, the technically challenged, can understand! I’m a photographer so I’m a visual person, so naturally the best part of this book were the illustrations. You actually get to see the screen shot (what something looks like on your computer monitor) of Google Ads, what the ad will look like on a cell phone and so on. Definitely a plus for me since I get most of my information and understand things visually. The next best part is the bulleted items and the step-by-step approach. You really don’t have to be intuitive about this - they take you through it and don’t assume you know big chunks of things about the process.

I didn’t know how keywords really worked before reading this book. I went to the Google site for help and didn’t understand it there, but this book I do get. Google ought to pay you guys for this and post this online instead of what they have!! The tips, tricks and secrets chapter is great! I’m intimidated enough by the internet - but this is like having your own geeky friend (one that actually can communicate in English) walk you through it. I can’t emphasize enough how great a help the illustrations are. They really do take the fear factor out of it - I can look at the book, look at my computer monitor and know I’m on the right track. There’s stuff in here I didn’t know I didn’t know, like combating pay-per-click fraud and all kinds of website url’s to go to for more information - although this book pretty much covers everything I need to know right now! One of the IT guys at work kept talking about SEO, and now I not only know that means Search Engine Optimization, I know what that means and why it’s important! Meta tags, keywords - wow. It’s all in here. If I, an aging boomer with no tech background can read and understand this - anyone can. Excellent! MUCH better than the Dummies books on the same or similar topics too. They not only tell you what TO DO, but what NOT TO DO - like replicating meta tags. I thought that would be a good thing to duplicate stuff - obviously not. So, they tell you how to NOT screw up as well as how to succeed! Just like a geek friend would! I love it! This is simple, easy to read and easy to understand. Thanks for holding my hand! I rate it a 5 only because there’s not a 10-star scale. This is THE book on Google Advertising.

Google has many tools to help you with your website and make it the best it can be. Be at the top of the ranks after you read this book.

  5. This in-depth look at the whole Google scheme of advertising solely on the web was probably one of the easiest to understand and easier to apply books I’ve read on the subject – and there are tons out there.

Written both to explain how Google works and how to use its systems to your advantage, I felt I could definitely put into action the tips Brown gives to improve my business’ visibility on the popular search engines like Google. Despite my familiarity with Google’s AdWords and AdSense, the author still introduced better ways to apply these products to enhance my business’ bottom line. I would definitely recommend this book as a great primer to advertising with Google.

  6. I have a burgeoning pet toy company and website, so I was eager to find the best way for me to ensure my website and my company is easily found by people doing web searches.
Reading a bit of the history of web advertising was very interesting to me, how it has evolved and continues to evolve is very useful to understand how it works.

This book really helped me understand exactly what effort was required on my part to make sure that I was able to achieve the results I wanted. It not only helped me figure out the kind of marketing plan I needed, but also helped me simplify it so that I didn’t let the planning side of the marketing overwhelm me.
Additionally, the book covered a lot of useful tips for the actual content we could add to our website. Things like a “privacy policy” or “about us” can be useful to helping us keep customers!

So many words are thrown at us on the internet when it comes to looking for information about advertising your website, this book truly helped me understand what things like “PPC” “Keywords” “Adwords” or “SEO” are!
Thoroughly understanding how a PPC account really works is very useful to someone who would want to set up their own account.

This book really has so much valuable information, it can be a lot of almost overwhelming information for a small non-computer savvy small business owner, but I really think that its an invaluable tool for business owners of all levels.

    4 stars!

  4. Book review on ‘The Secret of Blogging:how to Promote and Market your Business, Organisation or Cause with free blogs.’
The author Lieutenant Commander Bruce C. Brown, of the US Coast Guard, has written other books ‘How to use the internet to advertise , promote and market your business or Website with little or no money’, for which he obtained the 2007 Independent Publisher Award and ‘The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing: Pay Per Click Advertising Secrets Revealed’ , winner of The USA Best Books 2007 Award apart from this book. The new book has been published in 2007 by the Atlanta Publishing House in Florida. Bruce has dedicated it to ‘the men and women of the United States Armed Forces whose courage, bravery, and dedication deliver the freedom that is taken for granted every day.’ and has quoted General Douglas MacArthur and Ronald Reagan in the dedication page.

He has written this book for those people who have not set up blogs but would like to with the aim of promoting businesses or mere interaction with other people. He takes us through the various steps for blogging. Karen Jackie who is the Chief Architect of ContentRobot who writes the foreword believes launching a blog is easy and beneficial. Cost is not high and plenty of resources are available.

Bruce explains in fair detail how you could project yourself and your business, be indexed highly in major search engines, be considered as an expert and develop an online community with your blog. Improved communications will expand your customer base . Having a blog in addition to a website is like putting the icing on the cake. In a website you cannot ‘converse’ or interact with your customer base. A blog permits others to leave comments in your blog and you get a link to their blogs. Business blogging is good and encourages employees to feel they are also part of the business. It highly motivates them, to the employer’s advantage.
Things become more personal and thereby yield more favourable results. The step-by-step creation of a blog and its expanded options which provide more useful functions are highlighted. Priya Shah’s article on the decency of blogging language is an eye opener to the indecency possible. The secret to defeating (or minimizing) SPAM in your blogs is to use the tools provided by your blog software and host. Almost half of the book contains valuable information extracted by interviewing other professional and highly successful bloggers.
Very revealing secrets are divulged by the interviewed personnel.
This is mostly a ‘How to’ book which guides one stepwise into all the intricacies and excitement of blogging. We get a picture of how Douglas C.Brown whose company, Atlanta Publishing House, saw success and then reached the verge of bankruptcy. How he regains foothold by using his competitor Amazon as one of his distributors and how by blogging, Atlanta has marketed new realeases and emerged as an unquestionably great establishment is
evidence itself of the success attributed to blogging

It is left to the interested ones to go through this book and decide how successful they have been after employing the techniques explained. Bruce has opened the vista of blogging and detailed the procedure in simple terms. He is an expert in his field and has concentrated on the setting up of a blog with little or no expenditure.
